Market Commentary: Thursday 27th March

European stock futures are down, and the Mexican peso is weakening on the back of tariff announcements by Trump. Investors remain wary as they continue to wade through tariff policies, while the Fed shows no urgency to cut interest rates.

 

 

European stock futures are down, and the Mexican peso is weakening on the back of tariff announcements by Trump.

Investors remain wary as they continue to wade through tariff policies, while the Fed shows no urgency to cut interest rates.

Trump has added that China may receive a reduction in tariffs to secure the sale of TikTok to an American company.

The EU is preparing a round of tariffs of its own and is considering deploying the "anti-coercion instrument."

US index futures were little changed overnight, and the Hang Seng was up.

  • Bitcoin rose 0.1% to $87,379.73

  • Ether rose 0.7% to $2,025.08

  • 10-year Treasuries advanced one basis point to 4.36%

  • Germany’s 10-year yield was little changed at 2.80%

  • Britain’s 10-year yield declined three basis points to 4.73%
