Market Commentary: Tuesday 25th March

Chinese shares were down overnight, with a widely watched gauge of Chinese technology shares in Hong Kong slumping as much as 3.9%—the most in three weeks.

 

 

Chinese shares were down overnight, with a widely watched gauge of Chinese technology shares in Hong Kong slumping as much as 3.9%—the most in three weeks.

US and European equity-index futures are lower as well. Investors continue to remain cautious about forthcoming tariff policies and the upcoming April 2nd tariff announcement.

Turkey's top economic officials are scheduled to speak today, in the latest attempt by the government to calm the markets.

It’s a quiet data day otherwise, with US New Home Sales likely to have the biggest impact.

The Bloomberg Dollar Spot Index was little changed overnight, along with most currencies.

Cryptocurrencies were down, with Bitcoin falling 1.5% and Ether down 1.6%.
