Market Commentary: Tuesday 8th April

Global indices are steadily rebounding after the turmoil of the past few trading days. The HK50 remains down, as optimism and priority for tariff negotiations appear higher in other markets.

 

 

Global indices are steadily rebounding after the turmoil of the past few trading days.

The HK50 remains down, as optimism and priority for tariff negotiations appear higher in other markets.

Oil has also retraced a portion of its recent losses. Overall, it's shaping up to be a “Turnaround Tuesday” after the three-day decline.

Trader bets on the number of US rate cuts this year have been fluctuating, with three cuts now reflected in overnight rates.

Gold has climbed back over $3,000 and is now sitting at $3,010.

Similar to equities, crypto rebounded overnight, with:

  • Bitcoin rising 1% to $79,739.63

  • Ether rising 1% to $1,585.87

A light news day lies ahead, with only limited-impact data releases expected.
