The global stock market rally continued, driven by renewed enthusiasm for artificial intelligence (AI)–related companies. Asian equities gained 0.4%, led by tech firms such as SoftBank Group Corp.

The global equity market continues to rally into its sixth day on AI-fuelled optimism, with the MSCI World Index gaining 0.1% and Asian tech stocks reaching record highs. The JPY weakened 0.3% against the USD overnight as Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda avoided giving a clear signal on a rate hike at the next decision, keeping his options open.

Global equities extended gains, led by Asian tech stocks. The MSCI Asia Pacific Index rose 1.1% following a deal struck between OpenAI and South Korea’s chipmakers Samsung and SK.
